The relentless Zim bashing by some members with interests in SA makes me ask the question. Where is the best hunting ? In Zim or RSA. I'd be interested to hear from members who have hunted in both countries.

Please consider, the experience itself and then trophy sizes and animals available.

Zim will probably give you the most "roughing" as things are in short supply. In October we didn't have ice for sundowners, now I don't care who you are that is roughing it! Wink

I've hunted both and had fantastic hunts in both countries. It depends too on what you are hunting and where. Zimbabwe is suffering right now, and hunting there will not provide you with all of the normal hunting luxuries that you might have in South Africa.

I've hunted both. If you are O.K. with fences, and nervous about hunting overseas, then the RSA is probably right for you. If you are a little more adventurous, and want that feeling of hunting game that can come and go at will; Zimbabwe hands-on.

Hunting in RSA is close, but I'll admit much better, to hunting an exotic game ranch in Texas. It's too commercialized for my taste. I do think it is probably a glimpse at the future for quite a few African nations so we might as well get used to it.

all I have to say is SAPS and the 520 nine-page form to get firearms into SA. They seem to have the best organized form of graft and corruption on the continent.
