I am sorry I don't know the exact details but the fact remains that the cook first came down with fever and died and then a couple of days later one of the Indian clients also died. Someone said yellow fever, I have also heard that it was cerebral malaria. Happened in Tanzania 2 weeks ago or less. They were hunting with some locals from what little I know. The fact is that this guy did die of some disease very suddenly. Will post more as I get the details!

Very sad to hear this. It also raises some questions. Aren't clients supposed to hunt with licensed safari operators only?

Saeed. that's correct. Only TZ residents are allowed to hunt without a PH and all that goes along with it and only then, in certain areas. The guy could however have possibly been a TZ resident. Hopefully, BwanaMich or some other TZ resident might be able to shed more light on the subject. Whatever the story, it's sad news.

I have just returned from Tanzania and had to produce my yellow-fever certificate on entry. Not enough?

Last year this time, we spent two weeks in Kenya, then joined a 350pax cruise ship in Seychelles...came back to Mombasa, Kenya..then on to Zanzibar, TZ...then ont South Africa. SA demanded that every pax show Yellow Fever shots, which were technically required by TZ?? There was a mad scramble on the ship to get everyone in compliance before docking in Richards Bay..they are VERY serious about this stuff!! Note, the outbreak had been in Kenya that caused the ruckus!! 470EDDY

I wonder which kind of meal they cooked at their hunting camp trying exotical meat can be fatal there are plenty of unknown virus and germs over there and if meat is not cooked perfectly many of these virus and germs can contaminate the consummer.sad story yes Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
