Ann, There is a HUGE lion in Deka, which was saved by a very cloudy day. We heard him late in the afternoon while at camp. It was raining, and very dark clouds over head. But, we went after him. We found vultures on a big tree not very far from where he was in very thick bush. We left the truck and went after him - Walter was calling us absolute idiots to go after that lion in such conditions; almost dark, and very thick bush. Anyway, Roy and myself did not want to disappoint Walter for callings a pair of brainnless nitwits. The lion continued growling as we got closer, and in fact kept going around us in a circle!? At one stage we thought he was coming closer to investigate, and we waited for him. But, it really got too dark to see, and we thought it might be better to take Walter's advice and leave him for the next day. We had so much rain over night, that the rivers started flowing, and we just barely made it across to get back to our main camp. Oh, that was in 1993, so whatever lion you might get, could be his son

$650 a day just to HUNT lion is a deal! And getting one at this price would be awesome. The going rate in the Luangwa Valley of Zambia is now $1500-$2000/day for 21-days, and for a legit hunt in Zim ~$1100/day for 18-days (as you stated). Assume somebody went home empty-handed which is why this tag is available, and of course that the area is legit. I hope somebody can jump on this, and is prepared to leave in the next three weeks or so.
