My condolences to the whole family and especially his wife Sarah.

Nick Kilbride, died tragically yesterday in a helicopter accident I have no more details and hope that someone else could have some more.

He hunted with his father in law Angus Brown of Angus Brown safaris. One of the pioneers on bowhunting the big stuff in SA.

I knew Nick when they first moved to Ellisras that was back in '92 I think. We stayed a couple of houses away and use to play golf together. And also went to the same school Nick was 1 year my junior.

He was always fond about hunting and hearing about it untill he hunted himself and nothing could stop him.

I'm sure he would be missed even though I havent seen him in a long time I regurlaly heard what he was doing.

Another PH gone to the holy land of pefect hunting.
Nick you will be missed and it was an honour to have known you as a person.

Nick is sitting in the middle with his trophy bowhunted buff with his father in law Angus on the right.

Very sad news.

I met Nick while he was giving a presentation on bow hunting South Africa at a NH SCI meeting. He was a very nice guy with quite a good sense of humor and passion for Africa and hunting.

My condolences to his wife & family.

It is truly a shame and a great tragedy that the young man's life has been cut short. Condolensces to his family and friends.

I think it is 475guy or 465guy (My apologies if I am mistaken) that has this tag line with his posts...

"Low do they call me,
they bid me take my place among them,
In the Halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave may live forever."

Proper and fitting I think...

My profound and heartfelt condolences to his people.

No doubt every young death is pointless and sad, but how did my handle get into this?

Confused Confused bewildered bewildered

Lo do they call to me,
They bid me take my place
among them in the Halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave may live forever.

I think this is the accident in which Nick lost his life.

Johannesburg - The helicopter that crashed on a Limpopo game farm this week apparently flew into a fence, said the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Friday.
CAA senior manager for accident investigations Albert Morudi said the final cause of the accident had not been established, but it was believed the Robinson R22 helicopter hit a fence.

"The helicopter was doing game culling and they were following a kudu, and the helicopter impacted a fence."

Both men in the helicopter were killed.

The accident took place just after 16:00 on Wednesday at the Mpofu Game Lodge near Lephalale.

Captain Gabashane Moseki said police had not yet identified the dead men.

My condolences to Nick's family. Prayer send for him and the family.

Very sorry to hear of both deaths....does anyone know who the pilot was?

FWIW, game capture and arial culling are the most damgerous kind of light aviation and if I remember correctly, the R22 has the worst safety record of any rotary wing aircraft. They're an absolute bastard to fly.

Our condolences to all the extended familes and friends of the two affected. It sounds like he was a great guy to know.

My friends at Erindi love to fly one for both capture and culling, and also sightseeing. My wife loves her time in them, and I am just scared to pieces the entire time. Give me a good old Super Cub anyday!

Nick and Sarah introduced me to Africa and all the best parts of hunting. He was a wonderful, wonderful guy and his death is a great loss.

I only heard about Nick, never met him though. I new the pilot, Chris, I even flew with him a couple of times. Condolences to both families.
P.S. They were looking for a bushbuck, not a kudu....
