Dave: Mostly the HEAD. Look at the second picture. He alomost has no neck, looks like a bulldog almost. Also, the PH holding him is almost 6'2" tall and probably sports a 52" chest. Also the cat's paw's are rather large. jorge

Dave, just as Jorge says start looking at the head size of all animals...A big cat has a massive head a big bear and so on...I am always comparing the animals size by heads and I estimate before reading the article....

Dave: I never thought about the ears that way but it makes sense. Regardless, I'll defer to one of our resident experts. See we don't know everything. We just think we do...Smiler jorge

Jorge,

There is no way that cat is 180LBS he won't go one ounce over 179.75LBS I can tell from the picture.

He also isn't nearly as long as the 7.5' quoted. From my vast experience reading posts about leopards here on internet I'd have to say he's not going one MM over 7.495'. IN MY EXPERT opinion.

I have seen a wild leopard once for about 1 millionth of one second running across a road at night. It was the same leopard as the one photographed. I can tell from the spots. Only when I saw him he was in Tanzania. Same spots though.

Finally, and you should take notes on this point. If the cat would have been shot with a .45-70 using 750 gr Garrit super bunker buster, JDAM penetraters he would not have even had to been hit by the bullet but would have died of fright from the sound of the vicious ripping noise the bullet makes when screaming by the cats head at 600FPS. This would have saved a lot of tracking.

In the future please try and stick with the facts. This is the internet after all! rotflmo

PS

To all those interested in a male kittys genitalia. They are directly under the anus and stick out the back, they do not hang between the legs like a dogs. Go to the zoo some day and check it out.

In all sincerity.....

Way to go John and excellent judgement on the follow up. I'd like to hunt with Mr. Sharp!

Jorge,

Thanks for sharing.
A bit curious about the bullet used. At that range, in a .300WinMag, the speed should be about 3000f/s. Not to make more damage with a hit like that, is that a result of using a "to good" bullet? Sounds more like the work of an A-frame than a Partition?

Sincerely,

Brent: I don't know the bullet brand so I dropped him an email. He might be off to the bush already so it might be a couple of weeks before I get a response. jorge
