A dumb CZ 550 .416 Rigby question

I'm returning to hunting after too many years away. I've finally reached a point in life where I have the time and resources to take the hunting trips I've imagined.

I want to hunt Cape Buff, and have decided on the CZ 550 in .416 Rigby.

I know it's important have cross bolts installed on large bore rifles to prevent stack splitting.

In the examples pictured in the links below:
Why is the rear cross bolt on the .416 located much further to the rear of the stock with respect to the example displayed by the .375?

I was curious as to why the rear cross bolt on the .416 was further to the rear and behind the bolt handle.

I apologize for the dead links.

Yes, the CZ550 .416 Rigby I held has two crossbolts. One is positioned in front of the receiver lug and the second behind the receiver tang. There was NO crossbolt in front of the trigger.

I will go for the three crossbolts as Will has with his Lott, I will also order glass bedding, bolt jewling, and the bbl band.

Where I viewed the .416, there were three CZs one each in .375H&H, .416 Rigby, and .458 WinMag. and all were same price, approx. $899. The Rigby and WinMag had crossbolts, wilst the H&H did not.

I'm speculating that CZs .416s and larger calibers are offered with crossbolts. I'll calling CZ today to confirm this.

Will, you and nvhunter misspoke, Pete E, finally spoke straight.

The tang cross bolt was a half-assed attempt by CZ on the old Lux stock. It helps, but not as much the crossbolt behind the primary recoil lug on the action plus the crossbolt between the magazine and trigger wells.

Add that third crossbolt at the tang to the better two as above, and you are really shitting in high cotton.

However, I would prefer the wrist have a hidden axial allthread bolt behind the tang, along the long axis of the stock, bedded in epoxy, plus the better two crossbolts fore and aft of the magazine box. Now you have indoor plumbing instead of high cotton.
