Just in from the current issue of Safari Times newsletter. President elect Dennis Anderson is a twin award winner at this years Convention.

According to the "Times" Dennis Anderson received the "Hall of Fame" award along with the World Hunting Award ring.

Looks like all the time and effort in contacting those at the top of SCI by us on AR has fallen on deaf ears. Not surprising, as nothing was mentioned at the SCI Convention concerning Mr. Anderson and his alleged misgivings that I know of. Time will tell I guess to see if they get things sorted out or just continue on with business as usual. popcorn

Larry:

Kevin Anderson is the one with the alleged OOA connections and is the pres elect, IIRC. Not sure who Dennis Anderson is. Is that correct?

RCG - You are correct and maybe Dennis and Kevin are two different people? Hopefully this is true, and my apoligies to Dennis Anderson for the misconception.

As of the SCI Convention it was still full steam ahead for Kevin Anderson to assume control, so that part is a for sure.

Maybe someone can elaborate a little more on the Dennis/Kevin thing?

Did the new president have to pay for his awards like the average Joe member?

I dont care either way about a bunch of silly awards. If a bunch of people need to pat each other on the back to stroke their egos it dosnt matter to me. Without getting into the arguments of how and where the money is spent at least some of it goes back into conservation. We have bigger issues right now like the increased rhino and elephant poaching. The recent murder of Andre de Kock. I think it is time to prioritze. I might not like some of what goes on at SCI but it is not at the top of the list at this point.

Question...
What does....
"Dennis Anderson received the "Hall of Fame" award along with the World Hunting Award ring." ...have to do with African Hunting forum?
Sincerely,

VC - In the past ANYTHING having to do with SCI, good or bad, has been allowed for discussion here. The fact that SCI is THE moving force on all things Africa might be an acceptable reason? Roll Eyes

It seems that SCI just doesn't learn or care what others think.

Who are others? Is that the select clique that doesn't agree with everything SCI does, or is it the select group that have elected themselves as the SCI police? As one poster ask what does SCI have to do with African hunting other than being the largest supporting organization the African hunting industry has bar none! DSC is a very close second, don't want to create a misconception there.
