I am hearing a rumor that Nixon D'Sangi (spelling?) has disappeared.

Does anyone know if this is true? If true, what are the circumstances? A disappearance could be intentional or unintentional.

Just my thought but maybe Nixon just wants to get away for awhile after a long season in the bush? I know my PH in Moz wraps things up and is hard to find for a couple of months. He goes somewhere in RSA, but that's a big place. These guys deserve some time off and away from their daily rigors just like the rest of us. Good to hear that he as been "spotted" though.

Apparently he likes to take time off - or so I understand from a message I got.

May be that is the case.

I also understand that he did not win the SCI Professional Hunter Of The Year award, so the likelihood of him disappearing does not exists jumping

Last year I know he hunted right through the Christmas holiday and was doing hunts again in January. He basically hunted the entire year. In the past he had taken some time off in December and January.

I would be surprised if he isn't hunting. He is a hunting machine.
I hunted with him in July and shot two great Buffalo in seven days and he never slowed down.

He is moving into a new home in Chiredzi (a huge very luxurious place for his bride Mercy).

The man loves to hunt and is a "hands on" kind of guy and will probably die of old age in one of his hunting camps running the show til the very end.

Great guy.

I hunted with SSG this past June. Nixon's son Simon was my PH. I had a super time and took a great cape buffalo. I talked to Nixon around the fire each evening and enjoyed his wit and stories. He was a great host!

Whenever I hear about Nixon and SSG, I think about the Bill Murray movie called "Where the Buffalo Roam" where Bill trains his attack dog to go for the testicles with the command "Nixon"
