To often you only hear gripes about people. I want to publicly say 'Thank You' to Mark Young. While at DSC he busted his hump to help me find what I was looking for.....and he didn't even have a dog in the fight. He listened to what I was looking for, evaluated the situation. And introduced me to the best people for me - WHICH WERE NOT THE FOLKS HE REPRESENTS. He went the extra mile! Thank you Mark. Even more so, I thank you on behalf of my daughter and grandaughter. More later on the Elephant Hunt I booked.

Agreed...Mark is a good dude. He is always straight with me and has introduced me to some good outfitters. I like the fact that if it works it works, and if doesn't, it doesn't, and everything is still cool with Mark...

For a frustrated hippie, Mark is a good guy. Big Grin

It doesn't surprise me one bit that he did you the selfless favor. What goes around, comes around... and here's hoping some good comes aroung to Mark from his efforts.

Just kidding, but I had great luck with Mark booking for me too. Careful though, he'll end up with more head than pony tail to cover it!

Uh,...................Mr Colyer,............I hate to be a Buzz Kill, but on a internet forum that Adam Clements, (his employer,) frequents, you post for all to see a story about Mark selling for safari outfitters not related to and possibly in competition with Adam Clements Safari Trackers.

Seriously bad form.

Adam, for the record, my impression of Mark has been of a zealously, yes maybe even hysterically loyal, dedicated, responsible, and humble employee and advocate for Safari Trackers.

An illustrative example comes to mind that I just twelve months ago experienced; At last years SCI, my wife and I found ourselves for no particular reason chatting during the show on Tuesday with Wendell Reich at his booth about a hypothetical cheetah hunt in Zimbabwe. Out of no where, Mark appears, (airborne,) and with an Oakland Raiders Howie Long-ish clothes line with his right arm cleans both Tina and myself out of Wendells Barka Loungers and onto the show room floor. Before Either of us could gather ourselves or even a thought, Mark scooped both of us up with his left arm, made a quick apology to Wendell, sprinted the three of us all the way to the Mokore Safaris booth, and as I was still a bit disoriented, forged both our names for us on a Mokore contract.

Yes Adam, that is the kind of unceasing gratitude and dutiful servanthood your employee exudes.

Did you know Mark has The company logo tattooed on his person?

Say, I worked hard at this exagerated bunch of B.S., is there anyway this could compete with whats typed over in the African Hunting Reports currently?

Mark, see you in Reno! middlefinger

Mr. King,

For the record I am not an employee of Adam's. We work in "ASSOCIATION" with one another. As for your phantasmagorical account of the happenings at the '09 SCI show that's exactly how I remember it. Concerning the location of the company logo YOU'VE BEEN PEEKING again. You are such a silly boy.

Mark

I have spoken with Mark a few times. Quite a guy, although he did NOT offer to show me any of his tattoos. I am thankful for that, I think.
One good thing about hunting Africa and talking at SCI Reno, you finally see the positive side of delayed gratification. Planning hunts for two and three years in advance lets you savor the days in between trips.

Funny this post should come up!!!.........Here it is over 3 years later, and I am holding in my hand a contract to hunt Elephant that Mark sent me about 4 months ago. I have not sent it back yet, and he has not pestered me one little bit!
About the same time as receiving the contract, my daughter came down with Breast Cancer, and mother and I have been CONSUMED with child care for with our Grandbabies, a 14 month old (now 19 months), and 2 1/2 year old (now almost 3). Mark has not really heard from me, and I know he is out there! I have not forgot him, the contract, or the hunt.......I have just be preoccupied with prayer, work, childcare, and helping our daughter.
Same goes as my first post.........he is a class guy.

His wife Sadie is a gem.

He did well to separate from Adam Clements.

Mark put me onto my second, third, and nearly fourth safari and every single thing was just as he represented.

I would never hesitate to recommend him to my friends.

Met Mark in Russ Brooms Binga concession in 1994. I can say that except for the pony tail he seemed like a likeable character. It was a first safari for both of us so I'm thinking the same African bug bit us both.

Mark was a great help booking my first safari last year. He even came to check on us in Zambia!... now that is service. (actually our hunts happened to overlap a few days so we met up for a group dinner at his camp one evening) It was great to share dinner and stories with he and Sadie.

Sadly he didn't have his trademark pony tail in Zambia so I had step in with my massive mustache to give him that "distinguished" look for our dinner photos. Needless to say, the camp Gin stocks were quite low the next morning.
