A slightly longer drive but you should give Wes Good a call. He did all my stuff and I have been very satisfied. I know he has done stuff for others on this forum.

Hey, ask around at some local gun shops, etc. and they should be able to point you to some. Check the work they've done on some african game they have hanging in their shop and make sure they have experience with african game.

Zimmerman Wildlife in Martinsburg Pa. Marcus is one of the very best in the world bar none! Work will be done in good time at least before you are drawing social security! Serious his turn time is fantastic. 814-793-2821. I have had some as soon as 4 months and never longer then 6 mos.

I can recommend two

1. John George Creative Concepts Taxidermy located in Jessup. He does some incredible work, and is more an artist than a taxidermist, but it not cheap.

2. Young's Wildlife in Frederick. He does excellent work, has a good turnaround time and is well priced.

I have had work personally done or referred friends to both.

Whoever you choose use someone that does alot of African work and insist on seeing some of their work. A taxidermist that is not familair with African animals can make your expensive trophies look like road kill in a flash so choose carefully.

Quality of work if far more important than geographic location.

John George is one of the best. I didn't see where he's any more expensive than anyone else. Check his webb site at Creative Concepts.

I can also vouch for Wes Good at Wildlife Studios. His stuff just comes to life and he excels at custom scenes for special mounts. He is busy though and takes over a year, so be prepared for that.

Look at the Rapalee Taxidermy website and you will be convinced. They are in Goochland, west of Richmond. Expect about one year turnaround because they are justifiably busy.

Check Grafton Cromwell at Safari Arts Taxidermy. He posts here and you can find photos of his work in the Taxidermy Forum. Grafton's shop is a little South of DC in Amelia Courthouse, VA. I've been very pleased with all he has done for me and he's great to work with.

i agree. he did a great job on my buff pedestal mount and some plains game from Tz.
