| Memorial Day is the one day that really puts things into perspective for me as a soldier. I am always amazed at the generations before and what they sacraficed for all of us. Especially the WW2 vets. Not only did we lose countless thousands on the front lines but the entire generation paid the costs of that war. It makes me sad to think that we may never see the days again when an entire nation stood behind its military. The women who went to work in the factories and the families who lived off of their Victory Gardens and tight rations. We really take for granted just what the soldiers from the past gave us. It is a tough act to follow as a soldier today. |

| A friend of mine who has had about 1000 more takeoffs than landings (US Army Retired) sent this to me the other day. http://www.nathanadams.com/WeSupportU.htm I think it is worth considering on this day of remembrance. |

| I am still open for donations for Russels big Tanzania Buffalo hunt..We are at about $5000 but could use another couple of thousand if anyone cares to show how we feel...
And thanks to all those who have already participated in this well deserved endeavor, regardless of the size of the donation, its the idea behind all this that brings the hunting brotherhood together..
And for all the Iraqi vets out there that have done service in Iraq, I will still hunt you less my total commission...I wish I could do this for every vet in the USA but I cannot, so this is my best shot... |

| Thanks Ann its all too often that we forget the one's who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our freedom and the ones that are out there now standing on the front lines while we are back here with our families.

| Jorge, Although this is an international forum the price of freedom is the same everywhere. This may be an American Holiday but is by no means limited to the US. This is particulary true for WWII. Wherever our members are located they can share in honouring those who have sacrificed for their countries and others. The fact that we have the most freedoms of any nation on earth due to these sacrifices over the years is a fact. It dosnt mean that others dont have their own as well. In this I honour all who have sacrificed for the greater good of all. |
