Hey guys, simple question for some of you. Where do I write, call or contact to get a cities permit for Elephant in Zim for Sept or October? Thanks in advance.

Indoctrinate your Grandchildren to hunt....or someone else will indoctrinate them not to!

Elephant in Zimbabwe are listed under CITES "Appendix II", and your outfitter will take care of what is needed on their end. There is no import paperwork required (from Zim, as well as Botswana, Namibia and SA).

That was almost as good as the Bus Hamster/Bush Hamster thread on Big Bores forum.

I was having visions of "town elephants" requiring a special "City Permit" to keep them thinned out in Zim municipalities.

I sure am glad Bill got that one sorted out for me. Wink

CITES status of brown hyena in Namibia anyone? No cities in Namibia are issuing permits for any hyena that I know of. "Town hyenas" are not a problem in Namibia yet. Wink

Checked with US Fish and Wildlife and they told me no CITES, Cities or Village permit needed for Brown Hyena or Hartsmans Zebra from Namibia. So Leopard and Ele are the only ones needed at this time. The only thing required for import of the Zebra and Hyena are the export permits issued by Namibia. The US Fish and Wildlife person was actually quite helpful, not always the case in the past.
