You are missing a .22-250 I don't think I'll ever be without one again. They are a blast to shoot and super accurate all the way to "way out there."

I've also found it to be a super confidence builder for the younger shooter. It's as big and loud as a hard kicker but there is next to no recoil.

Id forgotten some of those calibers even existed! The quarter bores arent really my cup of tea -a double gun would be real nice...but the expence! I love the looks of a nice double and they handle beautifully but the price!

Couldnt bring myself to do it.

Boha is building a .500 Jeffrey (I think) so Id really need to beat him.

And yes we do have indoor matches here but they are serious get togethers for an elite crowd -not many hunters in that group so Id feel out of place. Been thinking about a good pellet gun, that way I could practise in the yard.

I sort of figured youd catch up with me... The info on the gun you sent me was AOK (my answer was I think "Sadist", short and simple) but as I have the .416 that gun just doesnt fit!

.577 Tyrannosaurus? 600NE? 700NE?

Or should I just be satisfied?

Anyone out there use the .505 Gibbs?

Sadist! Its a beautiful gun and a nice cal but with the .416 I dont really need it. Wanting is something else. Or am I being to rational?

Cewe, I'd have to second the idea of the 350 Rigby Magnum to go with your 416.. almost as good as the 338 Win Mag..

I would say it is in every way as good or better then the 338 Win Mag. You can load it down to 30-06 level with 180 grain bullets and you can also match the 375 H&H (at least by energy) by loading it with the 310 grain Woodleigh bullets.
The 2600 with 225 grain is a SOFT load, it is capable of much more. I have a 358 Norma and I send the 225 grains at 2850 and the 310 grains at 2500 with no pressure problems. Note that the 350 Rigby is even more capable then this.

OK, now you can flame me for prefering the 358 over the fabulous 338 Win Mag

I know how it feels. I have constant problems to make up my mind. My list of the absolutely most needed guns is around 24-26 in total

I have never liked the 3006 and would replace it with a 7X64, 270, 8X57, 8X64 or 8X68S

8,5 is a fine caliber and the 333 Jeffery would be sweet. A 338 win, 9,3X64 or 350 Rigby would be fine.

Boha-stop showing such rifles, pervert

Cheers

Boha,
I would love to have a 10.75x68 like that one..Had one once but at the time could not get any good brass, now that has changed and if I find another I will certainly buy it....

Ray, this one is not for sale Im afraid, not because I could not part with it but because it is a .404 today, and you have yourself to blame..remember the fluttering upper lip when shooting full 404 loads in a rechambered 10,75... Im a sucker for that kind of talk..
I got it from Sweden for 500 ; a smith over there rechambered it to 404 Jeff and had to sell it. It still needed work which was perfect for an amateur like myself. And its a fast handling thing. But still the original cartridge is wonderful. Dieter Horneber makes it worth having.
But there are 10,75:s still to be bought in Sweden for very good prices.
All you swedish hunters and riflemen out there: get this man a 10,75! All you need is a export permit - utfrseltillstnd.

Johan, I know im a pervert. I have to quote the moomintroll: "Whats the use of having a beautiful seashell if you cant show it off" - and I knew Cewe would be pissed off. Hes such a good sport, the b-st-rd.

Cewe, repeat after me: .318 Westley Richards Accelerated Nitro Express.

I'll weigh in too. If you don't like the .25s there's still a lot of wonderful 6.5mms. I'd go for a 260Rem. With all the other 308-based rounds brass will be available forever even if 260 should lose popularity.

22WM to 30-06 is indeed quite a gap. Too big for just one cartridge to fill. I'd also add a 223. The CZ w/ Laminated stock and black barrel is one of the best deals out there, along with the Savage Varmint models.

I'd stay away from the 243Win, but that's just me.
