As we do mostly Europe marketing, I must admit being a bit auwstruck by the the US shows.

I will try to give an honest review of how I experienced the DSC and the SCI shows. I read a couple of other reports from both outfitters and visitors, so a lot of what I have to say might not be news.

Firstly, I would like to say that I made good friends with all from AR that I met. At Dallas more so than Reno. I missed the SCI AR get together as we were VERY bussy that afternoon.

I wanted to meet Vaughn (UEG), as I wanted to ask him personaly about the leopard encounter he had, and did so by accident in a Mexican restaurant one evening. Never even got round to that. Also had a great time with Bwana and his buddy (who's name slipped my mind) and they stopped for nearly an hourly at out booth. We had such a great time, that I can only feel as if I made very good friends in such a short time. Maybe I hunt with these folks in future, maybe not, but friends they will be!

Bookings? Dallas sucked and RENO cooked. I must admit that we were stuck in a shitty spot in Dallas, and the layout of the floor was not good for the folks stuck by the food court.

I liked Dallas the town a lot, but if I have to be honest, you cannot compare the two shows. SCI was booking specific. People had money and/checks to BOOK hunts. I never got the same impression at Dallas. Thus said, I will be back at both next year.

Both shows were DG affairs, and most of it booked out. I heard rumours that there were not enough Lion, but we did not sell one of the four we had on qouta in Moz. New area and all that...

Our new area in Moz. generated a lot of interested, but people are understandably affraid to book with an unknown outfit in an unknown area. So we opted for the filming way of marketing this area, and Terry, our principal in Moz. made some good deals with some of the film hunters. Watch this space for further action. We did book a leopard and two Buff hunts here for 2010.

PG was dead. I sold one very specialised trophy hunt of 21 days on Friday afternoon at SCI, and a couple more on Saturday morning. We were giving away hunts, but folks would just not commit to booking. The economy is bad....

All in all, I had a great time. I think America is a wonderful country, and hope you can sort out the economy.

Thanks again to all that stopped by and said hi from AR.

Any case. I wish all a good 2010 season, and will report as always from our side on interesting things. Moz. is going to cook...I'll let you know what happens there!

Charl: I'm sorry that I didn't catch up with you the next day. I had some pressing business to take care of. I will talk with Bwanna (Ryan) and get back to you. It was great meeting you at Chevy's. What luck! Smiler

I walked by your booth Saturday but you seemed to be in the middle of making a deal, or I would have said hello.

You could not find two better guys then UEG and Bwana. Wish I had more time to speak to you in Dallas. But we did have a good supper.
