I am looking for a good place to hunt leopard/PG next year.
Could not find many informations about this area. Who can help me with informations about the situation at this area regarding poaching / number of game?
Who hunted leopard there?
How about buffalo? Are there tuskless/or management bulls available?
Thanks for your help.

I hunted that area last year with Lowveld Hunters with Steve Meyer as my PH. The area was well managed with good leopard, buffalo and plains game. I would contact jannie or Steve Meyer at Lowveldhunter.com.

I shot a good leopard last August that weighed 163lbs and measured 7'7". If I can remember how to post a picture I will add it below.

Brent Hein is one of the "go to" PH's for Lemco/Bubye. You can take a look at his website at: Brent's Website

I've been on several DG hunts with him and remain impressed his professionalism.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

rj61,

We hunted there in 2005 for leopard/plainsgame. Fantastic place. Our friends KB1 here on AR were hunting buffalo.

Excellent accomodations, food, fishing, and game.

Above is the link to my husband's leopard story.

Good luck, you cannot go wrong hunting there.

I'm headed there in a couple of weeks. I can answer any questions you have. I'll be hunting with Brent Hein and recommend you contact him to discuss your plans.

Leopard hunting there is very good.

The Conservancy employs very active and full time anti-poaching crews.

Plenty of buffalo. I shot this one on the first day of my hunt in 2008 with Brent:

There are elephant at Bubye Valley, but generally none on quota.

Feel free to PM me with any particular questions.

Good luck David... I look forward to a Hunt Report!

I like JudgeG and David W have hunted with Brent on two occasions. One in Lemco/Bubye. I had an extremely good hunt in which I took a 42 inch Sable and six other game animals, all record book quality. You simply cannot do better than hunting with Brent. I too will be hunting with Brent this October. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Brents going to be a busy guy this year, I am hunting with him the end of July/Aug. Will try for an old bull eland with my double. There are several good ph's that work the Bubye Cons. The Save is probably my favorite place but the Bubye is a close second, this will be my third trip there if that tells you anything.

I hunted the Bubye with John Sharp last May/June and had a blast. Plenty of game and John is the consummate PH. Be glad to answer any questions you may have. He is by the way an excellent leopard/buff PH and loves hunting them.

Another vote for John Sharp. He has a penchant for big leopards! check out his website. As muygrande says, John is a true professional and gentleman in the old British east Africa style. I'm working on a 2012 leopard hunt and he is certainly one of the best! jorge
