For you firepower freaks (and I might add for anyone involved in culling elephant), we have something that may be of interest.

As you know, in a heavy caliber it's tough to get more than 3 down in a box magazine. Some very expensive custom rifles can take 4 or even 5, as can CZ and maybe one or two other factory rifles. But in a nasty situation involving more than one elephant, or on a cull, that may not be enough firepower.

How about 8 down!! We are going to make a limited number of DG rifles (4 to be precise) with an 8 round detachable magazine. We will call this one "Bad Boy VIII". ("Bad Boy" is our comml mauser DG rifle that takes 3 down). Caliber choices are 375 Ruger, 375H&H, 416 Taylor, 458, 458 Lott and possibly 470 Capstick.

The rifle will have a Steyr action and black synthetic stock.

Base price will be $1775 with scope rings. Express sites will be addl, POR. The 416 and 470 cals will be subject to a $100 upcharge due to the cost of the barrels.

Keep us posted please. Do you plan on keeping it limited, or going commercial if it works? We might look at using one on DG for you.....

Please take care with the box magazine, I know them to get knocked out of big bore calibres...

i don't proclaim to know much about the subject, but would it be worse to have a 3-5 shot rifle run out of shells, or lose a "clip" for you DGR and have a fancy single shot? infinito is on the money, make sure it's hard to lose.
