Jeez, from the commentary, you would have thought the guy was hunting guerrillas ... or Gorillas.
Still, an enjoyable video, if you can get past some of the commentary. Whoever did the editing and filming did a good job. Whoever wrote the script has a healthy imagination!
Was that in E. Cape? I've only hunted Limpopo, very different country. That's the first PH I've seen carrying a pistol. For what purpose? A little "dramafied", but a lovely bushbuck.

The PH in that video, Todd Lutman, I hunted with when he was with Matabula Safaris. A very good PH, and a hell of a nice guy. Fun in camp, very knowledgable about the flora and fauna of the areas he hunts.

Mamba country, nothing like a dose of rat / snake shot to ruin a reptile's day.

Way too much drama for me. Could you imagine the narrative if they were after DG? I'd have to close one eye or at least cover my eyes and only peek every once in a while.

I believe that the narrator, (and probably the writer as well), is Trevor Gowdy. This clip is from a series a few years ago called "The Search for 'The One'". Good footage, but, waaay overdramatized.
I'm sorry Wendell, I had no idea Africa was this scary. If bushbuck hunting has this level of danger then I can't imagine what my upcoming elephant hunt will be like. I guess I'll need my deposit back!
