Dave, You guys killed it this week. The retrospect of hunting in Botswana was fantastic. I loved the old footage and history of Botswana and the facts that led us to where we are today with the closure of Government concessions to sport hunting. I thought Johan did a superb job comparing hunting and photo safaris. It was amazing to me to see how long he has been hunting in Botswana proper. And Ivan's views on cooperation between the two factions, sport hunting and photo safaris were well reasoned and thought out. Well done my friend. The show was a winner even without the elephant hunt! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. Great episode. And Ivan is absolutely correct, when decisions are made based on emotion and not science, the one thing we can be sure of is that the animals will be the ultimate losers. [Dave, by the way, great photography. The short clip of the bull in the distance with the hunters in the high grass in the foreground was very neat. I think footage where the videographer is back behind the hunters gives a much more accurate perception of distance. Nicely done.] Mike | |||
