In memory of Richard Francois Julia and his wife Paulina who were lost on the Algeria Airways flight just now in Mali.

Photos of an outstanding Roan and Buffalo taken this season in Burkina by his clients.

His last buffalo

His last Roan 31.5", Richard on the left, with happy clients.

May there be many lions and buffalo where you have gone Richard.

Richard was also an accomplished pilot and flew his Cessna all the way from Burkina to France. A journey he did quite a few times. In better times he flew to Timbuktu in Mali and many other places in that region.

Seems like there's so many of us here that when such things happen some among us knows those involved. May they rest in peace.

Many yrs ago my first wife's doctor n wife and other locals were killed in a Japanese air crash. Affected us personally as he was to deliver our first baby. Dozen or more were local folks.

Always sad when you know someone affected by a tragedy like this. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
