Story of Bob Swinehart and his home. Mr. Swinehart was my husband's boyhood hero, he wrote Bob a letter in 1972 (when he was 15) about his hope to one day hunt Africa like Bob with a bow. Mr. Swinehart wrote my husband a letter which he still has stored in the pages of Mr. Swinehart's book "In Africa".

Great read. Tragic ending to a bold hunter.

I just read another story about Bob, written by Wayne van Zwoll, in the latest Sporting Classics. As your article states, and as the one in Sporting Classics states, he (Bob) was a big fan of Howard Hill, and later Hill became a fan of his.

The author sure seems to put a lot of power on a house ending his marriage with a child involved.

Kind of whiny narrator to me.

The story re the house and it’s prior owner was pretty good.

The rest, well, kind of soap opera-ish.
