Butchloc nails it. If you are in business and receive shipments of product, notify all your suppliers that nothing carried by ABF will be accepted. F them.

I hate conspiracy theories, but this smells as if it could be just the latest in a well-orchestrated campaign to block trophy shipments from Africa. If it is, it began long before anyone heard of Cecil.

I agree, they are always several steps ahead of us. I said this just a couple days ago, that they are already probably working on shipping companies.

They keep everyone busy spending time and precious monetary resources trying to put out the fires they light. They keep us mostly in a reactive position instead of proactive.

But to be proactive we would have to think outside the box and try to figure out what they are going to attempt next. There are so many directions the next attack can come from and so many ways they can cause damage.........

Someone has to know who (or what group) is approaching airlines and shipping companies.

I haven't followed the websites of HSUS, PETA and other animal rights groups for years, but it wouldn't surprise me if they've bragged on the 'Net about leading the charge against us.

It also wouldn't surprise me if it were just one individual who doesn't like hunting and has the contacts and means to do something about it.

The sad part is this might well be very true.

What has happened to our very own organization that has been claiming all it cares about is hunting???

Where has FIRST FOR HUNTERS gone??

Don't bother to answer Bill, my question was not directed at you, as we all know the answer.

The next attack is easy to predict. Just say "canned lions." I'm thinking the TV "documentaries" have already been scripted.

Nothing new there, it has been in the crosshairs now for a long time. The documentary you allude to has already been made and was released a few weeks ago. If you check that topic on here you will see the threads on it.

Sent ABF a scathing email yesterday. Received a response from Randy Edelhuber, Coordinator of Customer Service this morning. He states that the statement regarding their not carrying taxidermy is "absolutely not true" and "is completely fictitious". I replied to him that I would post it here.

My response from ABF

Mr.Thornburgh

Thank you for your email.

I want to assure you that this communication was not approved by ABF corporate but rather the miscommunication of one individual.  I sincerely apologize for the communication and am doing everything possible to find each email that was sent and let our customers know that we will continue to serve our taxidermy customers.  I do not wish for the miscommunicated email of one person to ruin our longstanding relationship.

Thank you again for your continued relationship with ABF.  You are greatly appreciated.

It sounds like they have an anti-hunting employee that needs to be fired. Does anyone have a copy of the original email?

As ABF is a shipping affiliate of the NTA (National Taxidermy Association), I imagine someone within that company is sweating bullets right now.

It is true. On Tuesday I received a email from the ABF supervisor stating the email was send out by mistake and ABF will be conducting business as usual with accepting taxidermy mount.
I send the email to the lady I deal with at ABF to see if it was real and she must of forwarded it to the above and they contacted me saying it was true.
The funny thing about it, I 1st received the email stating they were through with taxidermy from My representative and have not heard word one from her since.

It'd be fun to find her in a few days and ask her, Dr. Phil fashion, "How's that activism workin' for you?"
