I am trying to get a flight out of Dulles to Joburg. in August. I am wondering if the seating has changed any since the last time. As I recall, the arm rests to go up but you are left with a extension that projects out from the seat and gouges you in the ribs. Are they all like that or only the SAA planes????? Is it a different model that flies to Europe and then down to Joburg.? Have the meals and refreshments improved any at all? We were treated better on the connecting flight from RSA to Windhoek than we were on the over water part of the flight. square shooter

If you are flying the 747, try and get seats in the upper cabin. There is a couple of inches more of legroom and between the window and the window seat is a narrow storage compartment (so more shoulder room for the person seated in the window seat). Overhead storage, however, is very small. Regards, Terry Msasi haogopi mwiba [A hunter is not afraid of thorns]

We flew BA last Aug/Sept. The armrests are never out of the way. The food, OTOH, was as good as British food gets (JUST KIDDING! PLEASE NO LETTERS!) It was pretty good especially for airline food. Good point Terry! the last few times I flew on a 747When I got to the airport I asked for seats upstairs. Grear sittting up there, the extra inch or two of leg room is great! Plus getting a window seat is good, there's a shelf along the side, gives you more room!! Have a great flight! "America's Meat - - - SPAM" As always, Good Hunting!!! Widowmaker416
