My daughter & I have just returned from a cow elephant hunt in Zim. We had a great time. It was here first trip and she did well. Her first African animal was a beautiful kudu.
We hunted with long time friend and PH Rodie Tourle in the Dete area. Elephants were plentiful and most days we would see 50 to 100.

I'll post some pictured when I figure out how to do it.

Cheers

Ok I think I have the hang of this. This is the pict. of my daughters first african animal. Rodie spotted 3 kudu in an open area. They made a 15 minute stalk along the bush line and my daughter took a 70 yard shot. The kudu only ran 70 yds. Needless to say she was very happy.

The double in the photo is an old Searcy 500 NE 3-1/4" built on a Browning BSS action. It's a little cluby but it has searved Rodie well in past years.

Very nice, congratualtions to you and your daughter.

The ele cow, did she drop like that or did you use the truck to set her up? Other then the mark on the ear, I don't see any other wounds, what type of shot did you take. Dete, that is in the Hwange area, right? Did you do any site-seeing around there or the Falls?

Again, nicely done! thumb

Just got back to the computer sorry for the delay. As for the elephant, we had to position her that way. I shot her with my Ruger in 416 Rigby. The first shot took out the top of the heart and the next shot missed the hip, but she only went 10 yards. I'll post the picture of the heart in a few minutes. The cut on her ear was from another elephant trying to pick her up and move her.
