Getting ready for the SCI show in Reno and just had 2 clients finish a hunt in Tanzania where this beautiful 48" Buffalo was taken with huge bosses. This is what we all dream about when Buffalo hunting, and I am glad that we can do this for our clients on a consistent basis! The two clients took 41", 43", 44" and 48" during the 10-day hunt.

Hope to see some of you at the show. Stop by and book a hunt with us if you want a real chance at Big Buffalo!

Bosses - schmosses. The real concern is the fact that he shot it with a Blaser!

Yep, there is a gap between the bosses, probably half of the bosses will boil away in processing, the tips are fragile and pointy, having seen no rough use, obviously a young bull, but not likely a "bearded-lady" cow, due to the nice shape and drop of the horns ... but the body size is puny! That thing looks like it has been dead for a week and dried up!

Nowhere near the trophy quality of Saeed's 49-inch dagga boy with one broken horn and a huge body! And Saeed's bull qualified for "Outer Circle Trophy" status to boot!!! Wink

Adam,

Where were you hunting in Tanzania? Near Arusha maybe?

You were hunting in January, what were the temperature and weather like?

Was it near 100oF and was it raining?

Thanks ahead of time for the answers. I'm planning a hunt to Tanzania during the same period.

Regards, AIU

AIU - hunt was in Lolkisale in Masailand. Temps at this time of year are in 80's during day. Some rain, but not too much.

Had a long exchange with Adam on this very subject. Bottom line I am doing a 21 day in Feb. 2012. Both late months have a risk of losing a day or so or more to rain and the usual getting stuck that comes with it. The upside is the old bastids come out of the park. The report I got was they saw lots of bulls every day. I can't wait and it is a done deal but I also am willing to lose some time to get a big one. Trade offs are there for any time you pick.
