No doubt when wandering the plains of Africa each of you were awed at one time or another by the remarkable sunsets that mother nature created just for you...Somewhere along the way you pulled out your camera and just had to try and save the moment.... How about sharing with us some of your favorites?
Here are a couple I took, though I'm sure they pale in comparision to those accumulated by some of AR's more frequent visitors to the veld.

In this one the sun had just slipped behind the hill in the background, but the scene still caught my attention:

Here's another that I enjoyed while field dressing an eland:

Spring,
Nice thread again. I couldn't resist. Also like the Whistlethorn shot Jboutfishn.

This is the shot of my last hunting day in Tanzania. We took a nice East African Impala about 5:00 that afternoon and then watched the sun set before we headed to kampi.

Sunrises and sunsets are some of the most spectacular photos from an African hunt in my opinion. Here are a few of my shots. These are low resolution scans for easier internet transmission, so they are not as clear as the originals, but I think they convey the mood anyway.

Nice Spring, here is one of mine. This is in the Limpopo Valley at my archery outfitter's place. He's got a lovely property right on the river. My group enjoyed many beautiful sunsets like this every evening last year.

Luckily, I was able to get in a little bit of Tigerfishing during my buffalo/plainsgame hunt in October 2001. This is on the Zambezi River, Zimbabwe

Your sky-line photo made me realize what was missing from my trip to Zimbabwe last October, the breath-taking sights I saw in Namibia. Where was your photo taken?

Jason, sorry, I should have put the information in the Pic. All of the Pics were taken along the Ruvu River in the Selous.

Here is another pic looking north a few miles south of camp. The grass in the foreground is 10" tall.

Love those African pictures. The Namibian moon is a killer. Should be magazine or gallery material! Since I posted my last day sunset....thought I'd add the gang and I with the impala taken before that sunset!

Just before leaving Namibia last June, our PH took us to the top of Ongariwanda Rock in the Land Cruiser to take some sunset shots.

We set up the tripod, and shot until the sun was down, never thinking to look behind us.

Then I turned to look back at the truck and couldn't believe my eyes...

The full moon rising was 10 times more spectacular than the sunset we had just filmed. (No image manipulation here - I only cropped the photo and resized it for posting.)
