A Prayer Request for my Mom
Russell,

AR members are family. When one of us is hurting, we all feel their pain. She WILL recover. Everyone is praying for her and you. It is in God's hands.

Russell....

Got to be quite difficult with you being away, but a mother knows when she is loved by a son like you, and that will help carry her. My prayers to both of you for the strength to face whatever might be ahead.

Kudude: Her first name is Kathryn. Thank you for adding her to your prayer list.

To all: I am so overwhelmed and I have not been able to keep dry eyes as I have read your posts. This response is overwhelming and I'm so genuinely grateful. I mean it most sincerely when I say "thank you."

I absolutely, positively, will keep you wonderful folks updated as I learn anything.

It's 1856 hours as I type this and I'm pretty "remote" where I'm at, and I just feel so low. It's done me good to read your posts, people. I believe in my heart your prayers will be heard and affirmatively answered. I cannot believe anything else.

As best I can say it, "thank you."

Russ

RIP
Russ,
God Bless Your Mother, Kathryn, in this time of trouble, just as as He has blessed her with a son such as you.

On the "benign" side, the complication may just be a medication side effect such as an ileus or biliary spasm from pain meds and may resolve promptly, as we all pray. Hopefully it is something simple like this, I pray.

I pray too that you will get firsthand info from the doctor(s) as to what is going on, if you can't be there by her side. Amen.

If any of us docs here may be of assistance in interpreting the medicalese for you, it would be an honor.

Russell,
I want to thank you for your service. I'll add your mother to our prayer list at church. I would ask that God heal your mothers illness and ease your worry.

Its times like this, times when the words "sacrifice" and "service" take on a deep and personal meaning that make me want to visit violence on those who would disrespect our military.

Don't know you Russel but your post was very moving.

Whilst I am not big on prayers, the Good Lord has never ignored me and so I will pray for your mum.

I will be praying too. I will also have the congregation of our church pray as we have a very active prayer list. If you get a chance to talk to her tell her people all over the world, People she doesn't even know, are praying for her.
May God's healing hand be on her. You hang tough. You are a good man.

I too have had a benign growth removed. The medical staff who looked after me were first class, I hope your mother is as lucky as I was.
You are in my thoughts.
Good Luck to you, your mother and your family.

For someone such as yourself who is gladly serving on behalf of me and my family,a request of prayers for your Mom is no inconvenience whatsoever.I only wish there was more I could do.

My prayer will be for both you and your Mom.Please keep us posted as to her progress.

ALCON:

Here's an update... and it's a good one.

I talked to Mom yesterday on my way to Memphis to pick up my CG. She is doing better. The medical folks are resolving the blockage issue and she sounded much better... better than I've heard her sound since she went in for surgery on the 1st of June.

I attribute this good news SOLELY to your prayers. Why? Because, basically, the medical staff didn't "do" anything to Mom this time. It's a matter of her helping herself, so to speak, in that she needs to walk around and such and get things... well, "working." They did X-rays on her and found nothing "serious" and, specifically for this, I thank YOU people. As far as I'm concerned, your prayers were heard and answered affirmatively.

This turnaround for the better has done ME a lot of good, too.

I sure know who my friends are and I ask that you consider me yours. If I can help any of you out with something, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Again... and AGAIN... thank you, SO MUCH, most sincerely, for your prayers.

Mom is thinking they'll let her come home in a day or two. I am so relieved. She still has healing to do, of course, but things are looking up.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... for your prayers.

May God bless all of you in a special way.

Hooah.

Russ

And by the way... it is my intention, when I get home, to print this thread in its entirety, stuff it into a big "Get Well" card, and give it to her. I think she'll really like that. She's pretty big on prayer, too.

Again... thank you, all of you, very much.

GREAT news!

I'm a big believer in the mind being a great healer (or killer).

If somebody "has their mind right", I'm convinced that they have a much better chance, with or without medical intervention.

Yeah, medicine is great, but without having your mind in it in a positive way, it's not the same...

Now tell her to get on home & get on with feeling completely better!
