375 Weight
How much does your bolt action 375 weigh? H&H, Weatherby, RUM or whatever.

Mine is right at 9 lbs. 14 oz. scoped and ready to load.

Just wondering how that stacks up to others.

(And, yes, I'm bored!)

I shot one for the first time in Africa last year.It was a new Win.Mod.70 with open sights.I found it easy to shoot offhand and very accurate.I saw on the Win.web site that it weighs 9lbs.I find that perfect.

Balule
My BRNO ZKK602 is at the gunsmith now, at 11lb fully loaded I never hunted with this gun since I got my 416 Rem M70.
The barrel is being cut to 18,5" and a slim wood stock is being built from a gorgeous blank. I gave them a target of 7lbs without scope or ammo. The wood is dense if they get it below 8lb I'll be happy enough.

375s don't have recoil and these guns are carried far more than they are shot.

At the original weight it had zero utility for my wife and son.

Older Sako, 7.75 pounds scoped. It is just about perfect IMO.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

You have forced me to dig my retired, early ‘80’s manufacturer, Win. Model 70 .375 H&H, from the safe. She weighs 10.0 pounds....ready to hunt , no ammo!

With my style of hunting, and potential shot distances a bit long...I built a lighter (9# 1 oz., scoped, fully loaded, slung), .375 AI. The new (1990) rifle was also built, a bit more weather resistant!

So now, I will put my old H&H back to her esteemed position as “Safe Queen”!

So, the answer is.... 10.0 pounds or 4.536 kilograms ( for our metric friends)! Big Grin memtb

376 steyr
My little 376 steyr with scope and no ammo weighs 10 lbs. It's an easy enough shooter. For those hunters that are use to the bigger big bores like a 458 winnie then a light 375 rifle is no problem. For those hunters that are use to the 270 to 30/06 class any gun that can shoot 300 grain bullets with a muzzle energy of 4,000 ft/lbs or more need a little more weight than their "deer rifle" on average.

All three of mine are right around 10 lbs., scoped. That’s a good weight, IMHO.

They shoot like .22s, or so it seems to me.
