Well, it was a real pleasure to meet Mark Sullivan at the Heym Challenge in Germany over the last few days. Likewise it was great to meet fellow AR members ExpressYourself, new_guy, NitroX and Safari James.

The highlight of the trip was a crazy drinking session with MS acting like kids and getting blind drunk talking about everything you can imagine. Priceless beer

He didn't say a bad word about a soul and as anyone who has met him will confirm is a very funny guy who just loves what we do.

Me with the not so big man Big Grin

Max:
How could any time with Mark but be anything but enjoyable?
Todd: I thought Russell was posting here under his stage name(?).

Mark (Maximus Brutus),

In Milan currently and was catching up on some emails and appointments with clients when I saw this post. On a personal level, my wife and I very much enjoyed our conversations with you and your wife during the Heym Challenge II. Heym had another top-shelf event with fantastic international reach and participation.

Make sure you post some photos of your newly acquired Heym rifles for all to enjoy here on AR. Some great rifles my friend.

Give our best to your wife and looking forward to seeing you soon in Vegas. We should be back in London tonight and then back to Germany next week to begin our scheduled hunts. We should be in the states mid-May. I will let you know how our hunts go when we return. Best of luck on your upcoming safari in Tanzania!

Cheers,
Shawn

Heard a Ar member won the competition!

What I really enjoyed was the presentation at the end of the .577 NE versus 4 Bore Smiler

They had three huge blocks of wood(approximately 1 meter wide and 2 meters high), placed a few feet behind each other with the picture of an aproaching elefant in front. The wooden blocks were approximately 10" wide.

Well the .577 NE raced through all three blocks like a hot knife through butter!
Then it was the slower 4 Bore`s turn...after the huge recoil and cloud of smoke cleared, one could see the two huge front blocks topling over! A most impresive sight! The huge bullet was stopped by the last block of wood.
The hole of the 4 Bore dwarfed that of the big .577 NE
