I am in discussions with Buzz regarding elephant. He said my PH would be Myles. Anyone have experience with Myles? Thanks.

A delightful gentleman, more than capable of getting you what you want. I'm booked for March 2008 with him, btw.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

I hunted with Myles this year and posted a full report. I would hunt with him again any time.

Edit: Here is my report.

I would hunt with Buzz anytime and anyplace. I have every reason to believe that Myles is the same sort of professional.

I would definitely hunt with Myles, Buzz or Alan anytime, anywhere. Myles is a really funny guy and I enjoyed sharing camp with him. His humor is...well, different.

I too met Miles when I was hunting with Buzz. He had a couple of very happy clients while out buffalo hunting in Chewore N when I was there. He has an excellent demeanor and an obvious attention to detail.

I would offer my stamp of approval for anyone employed as a PH by CM Safaris!

I would love to do 10-14 days with each one consecutively. It would cost a small fortune but it would be a real hoot. I'm also jealous of you that have had all 3 in camp at the same time...and some with Richard Harland too! Good gravy, that would be a fun camp.

Bryan,

You must be dreaming, you know damn good and well that there is not enough beer left in Zim to support all of them in camp at one time. I know that you are prone to exaggeration, but sheesh . . .

Funny you should mention that...Alan still fusses at me for starting all of that. I understand that people are walking up to him and saying, "You look like..." I think it's hilarious.

The only reason I did that was because Alan thinks DiCaprio is kind of queer. He also said DiCaprio's accent in Blood Diamond was NOT South African but more like a Kiwi. What say the Kiwis about that?

Yep -- when I hunted with Allan in May 07 -- that was an ongoing issue-- not to sure he was really into the idea --I had been tipped off to the concept prior to my arrival by unamed individuals -- glad this came up again as I will be following in is footsteps again in about 30 days -- YIKES!

A good friend of mine (Tsetse Joe) has hunted with Myles every season for the past seven years and any one that knows Joe can understand Myles must be a good PH to be able to put up with his antics . Wink

I thought Blood Diamond was a great movie sofa but i have not been to Africa yet.

Di Carprio sounds like a Kiwi WTF?? Alan would be a brave man to say that to any New Zealander clap

I have been fortunate enough to have dinner with Myles the past two years at the Dallas Safari Club conventions (along with his lovely wife Olivia). I am even more fortunate in that I will be heading to Zim in 6 weeks to hunt buff, ele, and sable with Myles in Chirisa.

Everyone I have dealt with at CMS (Buzz, Myles, Carla, Charmaine) have been absolutely fantastic.

'Bro' is quite common slang in SA, but more common is 'bru' - adapted from 'broer', Afrikaans for brother, so same thing....

'Moont', actually 'munt' from the word 'Umuntu' (used in a few different Nguni languages) - noun for 'person' or 'human'

I hunted with Myles in Chewore South and North in March of 2006.He is honest, capable, and an outstanding hunter. My success on a big bull elephant and a big hippo was due to him. I count Myles as a friend. However, I think I'm a better fisherman!Bwana dogo
