That been around the mill a few times, a broad combination of hunting, what appears to be culls, anti-poaching actions, poaching and 'low-tech' hunting/poaching/PAC by Africans - all pitched as some kind of hunting movie..

Its pretty full on I agree, and certainly riles many folks.

As much as I like YouTube and similar sites, they do also open the door to people posting all kinds of stuff that they pitch as truth/fact etc and many people out there without the critical skills fall for what they see as absolute gospel!

I have a copy of the movie that clip comes fro and it is many different things , but it is not a hunting movie. It runs about an hour and a half and it describes the period in time when the colonial powers were abandoning Africa. The locals ran amok and both whites and blacks committed many atrocities in this era of lawlessness. The poaching taking place in the clip was only a tiny part of it.

The Hunting Report sold the video years ago. If I recall correctly it was called Savage Man, Savage Beast. It was not solely about Africa. Some of this did not come from that video. The elephant, waterbuck and buffalo definitely did.

I do not recall any of it that was not about Africa. The title originally was Africa Addio, translated Goodbye Africa. It was a documentary filmed by an Italian (Jacopetti).I think I have the spelling correctly.I can check my video if it is important to anyone.

It has speeches by Jomo Kenyatta and good old boy Nelson Mandela. It shows some scenes of some Somalian Arabs being herded into the ocean. Also mass graves where many of these victims of genocide were dumped.

The show has a message and is worth watching but it is not for the sqeamish.

Got no interest in watching those animals suffer like that. Watching that Ele pull spears out of himself is heartwrenching.

On the flip side, I suppose if Africa was all clean and nice it wouldn't have the appeal that it does to the likes of us though...
