How accurate is the Swift-A-Frame, in the small and large calibers?

Leo,
In my .30-06, I regularly shoot .6"-.7" 3-shot groups at 100yds.
In my .375s, I have yet to shoot a group larger than an inch at 100yds., and usually two of the three shots are almost on top of each other.
I've bought a bunch of them for my .270s and .338, but haven't gotten around to loading them. I have lots of confidence in the bullet's performance on game, and would be willing to put up with less accuracy compared to an inferior bullet.

I've found them to be as accurate, and sometimes a bit better, than Nolser Partitions in my .375....the downside, for me, is they are more expensive, not as easy to obtain and seem to deposit a bit more copper in my bore than Noslers. I don't believe they perform any better.

I have used them for years in the 30/06, the 375HH and now the 458 Lott. I would not put them into "bench rest catagory but they will not be the limiting factor in a hunting rifle. My 30/06 and my 375HH will easily shoot 1" groups at 100 yards with them. I have killed quite a few African animals and bears at 250-350 yards with them.

As I said the accuracy of the bullet will be the least of your worries, the gun and the shooter will be much more of an issue.

I have a box of 175gr 7mm that I have half used and they will keep to MOA in my rifle.

Leo,

That depends more or less on your rifle.
I have shot three buffalos with Swift A-frame (Norma TXP)caliber .375H&H and they performed beautifully.

I have a Model 70 that will shoot 1 inch groups with Federal Premium TBBC or the 200 grain Sierra. Same rifle will not shoot Remington loaded Swift A frames under 2.5 inches at best.

The 300 gr in 375 remington safari grade shoot well enough for me. The 270's in the same rifle usually shoots about an inch with selected groups better. My best group was 0.03 inches at 100 yards. My best group ever with a hunting rifle and bullet. Outside to outside measurement was .405. take away .375 diameter gives .03. Luck played it's role in that group but still I was impressed. If your gun likes them, it likes them. Terminal ballistics are as good as any. Good hunting. "D"
