Wild Heart of Africa edited by Rolf D Baldus tells the story of the Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania and has chapters by most of the well known names of the Selous and some lesser known names, particularly some of the game scouts etc.

It's only currently available from Rowland Ward, so I can't direct you to the shakariconnection bookshelf (sob!!) and at about US$65, it's not particularly cheap, but it's worth every penny of that price and I strongly recommend you BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!

It's absolutely fan-bloody-tastic!!!

I'd enjoy discussing the book with Jon Speed but have lost his email address in a recent computer crash.......... so Jon, if you read this, could you please e-mail me. Thanks.

shakari ----- Thanks for the information. I hunted the Selous, bought a book at the airport and read it on the way home. I get that peaceful feeling when I think of Africa and the Selous. I can't wait for it to come in the mail. Good shooting

An old, late acquaintance, Clary Palmer-Wilson, spoke reverently of the Selous and his days as a PH there. I will hunt up the book. Thanks for the tip, Shakari.

The Selous is about as close to paradise as any place I've ever been.
