So, anyone have a kindle and able to find good books on Africa Hunting? I kind of quickly glanced at what was offered on Amazon.com, but didn't find too much. I was wondering if there might be other locations for kindle purchases on Africa hunting? Thanks, Graybird "Make no mistake, it's not revenge he's after ... it's the reckoning."

Aussie, I looked there, too, but didn't find anything. Actually, I search for 'kindle' and it turned up 0 results found. Thanks though, Graybird "Make no mistake, it's not revenge he's after ... it's the reckoning."

FWIW, I'm just finishing a book about how someone from overseas can operate as a PH etc that will probably be marketed as an ebook.

I'm a recent Kindle convert and I love it. I did the same thing and couldn't find too much in terms of African hunting books. I have, however, read some really good African history and biography books. I'm reading one on Livingstone and Stanley right now that's extremely interesting. The African nuts in those days were alot tougher than we are for sure!

Mate, you've first gotta learn to hold your crayons in your fingers and thumbs instead of your fist!

There is some Wilbur Smith available on Kindle as well. I've already read most of it though... I travel lots of work and the Kindle is terrific, whole lot lighter to carry than a book and you are not limited to the crappy selection in airport bookstores. I looked for Cry Zimbabwe recently though and it's not available. I'm off to Zim for the first time in June (a little safari crazy right now).

I'm trying to sell some articles and my books on Kindel. The articles are only .99 and of that I make a whopping .35! Check them out at http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B005FADUX4 I'd be interested to hear what y'all think. This is new for me.

I had a thread about this about 2 months ago. I got some good info, and downloaded probably 15 books for free from some recommendations. Search that thread and there is some good stuff there... Good Hunting, Tim Herald Worldwide Trophy Adventures tim@trophyadventures.com

I'm a recent Kindle convert too. I didn't think I wanted one and resisted for a long time, even after my wife got an iPad and raved about it. Packing for my most recent trip to Africa, though, I had to really watch the weight given a charter flight and toting two SCI Blue Bags along. So I couldn't pack my usual 3 or 4 books. I got the Kindle and fell in love. I'll still buy nice books that I want to leave for my kids, but for paperbacks and just general "plane reading," the Kindle is really the ticket. I downloaded about 20 books before I left last month. Several Wilbur Smiths (I only read these on hunting trips, to make them last), the Van Buskirk book recommended in this thread (which is excellent) and some military history/memoir type stuff - that new SEAL memoir, for example (which I already bought in hardcover but paid for again just to have on my Kindle).

Not sure if you can put audiobooks on a kindle or not but Brian Hernes White Hunters is available. It's a fantastic book. iTunes shows the entire Capstick catalog but not sure if you can transfer them to kindle.

I love reading the classics on My Ipad because they are free. Use Google play and download WR Baldwin, Gordon Cummins, Livingston, Roosevelt, etc. If you are interested in Kindle books on Southern African wildlife and hunting look up Lytle :A short safari adventure among Africa s thorny bushveld wildlife. Books 1 and 2
