Excellent read. Thank You. Not too far back, a grandaughter (I believe it was)of Sam, posted here, some fabulous photos of Sam's safaris, most of which took place in the fifties and sixties. Many fine trophies were taken by him and family members, including some exceptional elephant bulls. Very interesting. I thought I remembered the name being Pancotta, not Pancotto (?).

Thanks, I am hoping to get more stories to post if possible. I have seen his last name spelt both ways but I believe he spells it Pancotto. kathi can verify.

Greetings AR members. I recently had the good fortune to be a dinner guest of our own resident travel expert Kathi and her husband Rick, and was lucky enough to meet the famous Sam Pancotto. It was great to listen to Sam non chalantly talking about dropping elephant with an .06 back in the early safari days. Anyway, I won't go into all the details but I thought I might post one of his stories for you all to enjoy. http://www.worldshooter.com/stories/bastar.html
