Many of you have been fortunate enough to hunt in a variety of locales in Africa. Which area is the most beautiful in terms of the beauty of the natural surroundings? _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Wink, I have a lot less experience than most on this forum. My votes would be: 1. Masailand (Lobo) in July 2. Matopos, Zimbabwe any time 3. Non-Hunting: Victoria Falls, Zim anytime

A late afternoon boat ride on the Zambezi River through the awesome Mupata Gorge in the Zambezi Valley, in April when everything is nice and green.

Of the places I have seen, I like Dande North in the Zambezi Valley. Although Masailand certainly is beautiful. Regards, Terry Msasi haogopi mwiba [A hunter is not afraid of thorns]

Wink Bill C has it nailed. The Gorge on the Zambesi and Ngorongoro Crater are the most spectacular places I have been in Africa. Anybody that hunts those Zim areas below Kariba and along the Zambesi should insist on taking an evening ride down through the Gorge if you have access to a boat. The most beautiful place I actually hunted was on Mount Galli above Lake Natron in Masailand. The flowers, trees and thick vegetation were like nothing I had ever seen. The view out over the lake with all the pink flamingos was amazing. Even more amazing was the contrast of standing in the misty wet jungle at 10,000 feet and looking down on the rest of parched Masaialnd. Very cool! Regards, Mark MARK H. Although I have not been there in about 8 years as I spend most of my African time in Tanzania these days, I still love the Mountains of the Eastern Cape for pure beauty and majesty...and the climate is to kill for...The land of Shaka..South Africa is a beatiful land. The Kalahari has that desolate thing going for it that appeals to me. I wouldn't want to live there though. The KHomas mountains are georgeous but I bet the most beautiful place in Africa isn't in Namibia. The Red Sea hills in Sudan are nice and desolate and beautiful as well.

Botswana's Okavango Delta is a natural wonder. True wild Africa with virtually no inhabitants. The weather is just about perfect during hunting season as well. ______________________________ "Truth is the daughter of time." Francis Bacon

I'd have to rate it.... 1. Masailand...Lolkisale was what you think of when you think of Africa. 2. Kwa-Zulu Natal...the Umfolozi River and the area I hunted Nyala around Bayala Lodge was spectacular. 3. Save Valley...I think Mark Young called it a hunter's Garden of Eden and he isn't far off! I know there are others but those are the top three IMO... "Natural Surroundings" is the key. Anywhere I´m alone is the perfect huntig place. I´m been to many majestic places but seeing five to five thousand other people standing in that majestic pace ruined it for me. I just want to be on the top of a mountain somewhere by myself, alone with my thoughts, wondering how God did it.
