How much can a person expect to pay for a good used double rifle. Where would be a good place to look?

It really depends on the caliber but you could get a Chapuis 9,3 for less then 5 grand. If you want a DG caliber it will be somewhere from 7500-15. Check out gunsamerica.com, Champlins, drake.net

Check Cabelas Gun Library. You can usually see what they have in inventory from the website.

Holland and Holland also has an online inventory but they quite pricey.

Price, $7500 to $15,000 for a standard working model. Some below and some above. The high end basically is "sky is the limit."

Anything from $1500 (Valmet O/U in 9.3x74R) to $75000 (Holland and Holland Royal 375 H&H) and beyond if you really want something unique (how about a 577 T Rex double for around $175K?)

Could you be more specific? Caliber or intended use, production gun or hand-made, nitro or black powder.....

That's what makes double rifles so much fun! (A lot more fun, and a better investment, than owning the stock of some large corporation).

I bet your Holland is worth somewhere close to 10. You could trade it in for a double plus some cash.
