Hi Guys,

I was curious to know what the potential extra cost for a charter from Cpae town to Limpopo would be.

My better half would like to go to RSA with me, but we would like to spend some time in Cape town and go to some of the wine regions first, then fly up to Lipopo for some safari action.

I only ask because all my internet searches have turned up a blank

Thanks,
FB

A charter is not neccesary, that route is easily accesible via commercial flights on SAA.

I did exactly what you are talking about in May. I think it is a great plan. It gives you some time to relax after a long flight and get adjusted to the time zone before heading into the bush. It was easy to clear my rifle (of course with the proper documents) through CapeTown and then Johannesburg was only an in-country transfer without any problems.

We loved the Stellenbosch Wine country and will do it again.

At that time Capetown to Johannesburg was $188 each on SAA for about a two hour flight. It is going to be higher now, if for now other reason that just higher fuel prices.

Your original USA to Cape town ticket will be easily amended to include the extra trips you are discussing foe very reasonable extra charges. Nice roomy flights as well.

Yo might also look at other Sounth African domestic carriers. esp. "Kulula.com" Nationwide, and 1Time - Though I have no idea how they deal with firearms.

I just did the Cape Town area in August, if you want hotel or tour guide options drop me a PM.

Thanks guys,

I'm actually going to be flying from the UK.

My motivation for the charter was so that we could get right up into Ellisras, or fly directly into the Kruger camp for game viewing. rather than waste a day flying to J'burg and then driving up.

I think Kulula.com are the guys I lookad at for the safari last August, but I forgot their name so thanks.

regards,

Kulula will carry hunting firearms (but not handguns) Nationwide won't carry any firearms at all.

Kulula fly JIA to Nelspruit (KMIA/MQP) airport and you can hire a car there and if you enter KNP at Numbi Gate you can be in the park within about 20 minutes of leaving the airport......... if you can find time to meet me for a beer or two or your way through it'll take a little longer!!!!

SAA also offers a non-stop flight from Cape Town to Nelspruit [on a smaller commuter style subsidiary SAA Express?]. Leaves Cape Town in the morning, maybe 9:00am so in Nelspruit by noon!

I don't know about current pricing, but Air2000 is a great charter company. Contact Ann and she can help you with anything you need. I don't have the website handy just now, but will look for it.
