Guys, I think Mike just likes to twist the knife into the rest of us mere mortals, in the nicest possible way of course! Regards, Pete

Well, What do you need? I have plenty of trading swag. That Ruger sounds like a possibility. I noticed your subtle placement of the details of that rifle out in full view for us to realize that our lives were incomplete without that rifle in our safe instead of yours. It's picture posting time Mike. JCN PS You have no doubt noticed the use of the word "need" instead of "want" in the first sentence. All of us on this AR pirate ship need just one more rifle to feel like a new man. Of course, the new man also needs just one more rifle.

Quote: Don't listen to all those phillistines. I fully understand your problem. And to show you how much I feel for you I volunteer to take custody of the "64". That way you won't have to feel bad about *selling* it. Of course that would mean *I* would have a 62 and a 64, but I'll just take a course in stress management to get over it. Frans

Sell the 62 and spend the money on a pig hunt with the 64!

Now if we AR people were really bad, we could ask all bullet mfgs and distributors to stop sending 9.3 bullets to CA! Just a thought.

I have been there already as well. Ended up selling a fine factory Voere 2165 Mauser in 9.3x64. (see pics) I have regretted it ever since. My two 9.3x62 rifles are Mannlicher-Schoenauers, so I do have some consolation. If your x64 is indeed an FN 98, keep that one. The Ruger does not even deserve to be in 9.3x62 (I chastise Ruger for not making it a factory offering).

I'll third the common sentiment...Boo-fricken-hoo! That's the kind of problem we all hope for! Cheers, Canuck ps: I'd go with the x64 every time...even if it was Ray's once.

You see I have one of each...the 64 was Ray's can't sell it becuase just would be right and it's damn accurate. Matter of fact...it performed outstanding at the first AR DGR ground squirell hunt at Kyler's. The other I got this Ruger old style 77 that was re-barreled to 9,3x62 (22 inch bbl)by Jack Belk, with single fixed shallow v rear sight, Warne QD rings, recoil pad, after market bottom metal, trigger job, matte finish, and very accurate... But it just kills me to have two so close..what to do...trying to simpliy my life...no need for both... Please help...

Ray, Ain't no Mama to worry about here...but I appreciate the kind words... I may just have to keep both...such decisions... Perhaps, Ray you have a stainless synthetic stocked gun that you would part with for the '62

SELL THE RUGER!!! A Ruger action just isn't classy enough for the 9.3 x 62. Then spend the money on a hunt.

Well the 64 is the better rifle and you can load it DOWN to a 9.3x62, It has a LW barrel and is a Mauser FN as I recall, Horneber brass is now available as is RWS for the 64....Sell the 62 since you have both and you have a lot of components for each I am sure...It is just a rebarreled factory rifle... I feel for you, your a pathetic case of jumbled nerve endings, your suffering with cold sweats, shakes, diahreaha, and mucus expelations, you feel gillflurted and stringhaultered, the quicker you dump the Ruger the better off you will be, unless you keep the Ruger and sell the 64 which will bring you a lot more money, make mama happy and you can buy something else!!...Have a good day Mike!

I feel for you as I had much the same problem being the owner of a Mannlicher in .375 H&H and then buying a 9.3x62. Couldnt figure out what to do with it -build something else, trade etc. Then I made the mistake of test firing it and it shot well with mild recoil. Those sleepless nights. So I did the following: My .416 and .375 are for Africa. My 6.5x55 and 9.3x62 are for Europe. The shotgun is for the birds. The 22s and 45 ACP are for fun. The rest Im selling off as I dont need any more guns. Ill use the money to restock the 9.3 and put good scopes on it and the 6.5 (Leupolds). And in a week or two Ill probably start buying again! But thats half the fun. Feur frei!
