I have a 1/2 feral cat. Anyone considering working with a tiger, lion or big cat, should look at the scar I have on my nose, from simply being in the way, when she wanted to get to the window. Or, the number of scars I have from her simply playing, when I didn't really realize she had sharpened her claws again. She doesn't lack the 'killer instinct', at all, and will kill and eat anything she can catch, grab, and kill. A big cat, playful swipe of the claw, and you are dead. There is a REASON they are the Big 5, and are considered highly dangerous: THEY ARE, NO MATTER WHAT. I think the quotes around "TAME" say it all... By the way, I love my cat, and she's an absolute beauty. If she weighed 50-100 pounds I would long ago have been in intensive care, from her "playing". Wonder how Roy and Segfried survived so long, or the trainer of the grizzlys, tank, and company? s

"Tame Leopard"... Ken Stewart who has more experience with tameing wild animals than any other now living person told me that the ONLY animal of the big 5 that he never managed to tame was the leopard. Carl Hensley a friend of Ken tried, his "trick" to handle the leopard when he charged was to hold the animal in his tounge. But when Carl only had his tumbs left, all other finger severe damaged -he killed the leopard. Ken supplied animals to movies like "Mugambo" and "Hatari" with John Wayne. Ken Stewart had tame Elephants, black Rhino, lion and buffalo among tame plains game. Husky

Saeed has mentioned that his pet cheetah plays stalk and attack, but Saeed usually figures it out. My cat just nailed my right arm, and, if she was a bit sharper clawed, I'd be bleeding a bunch. Their idea of fun can be fatal for people without fur, and claws... s

Prince Of Cats by Arjan Singh (ISBN 019 565402 1) is a good read and does throw a different light on leopards to that which we are accustomed to. 'Billy' Arjan Singh is one person who hand reared a leopard - Prince. However, his main aim was to rehabilitate this leopard into the wild. If memory serves me right, he also had some success with two other leopards - Juliette and Harriet. Rustam
