The luncheon consists of your choice of corny dogs, burgers and brats, pork steaks or kosher pastrami. This is a gathering where the words Dip and Shits are synonymous with attendees.

What we (hunters) need to recognize is that these folks are united and have their checkbooks out. They vote too.

We seem to want to bicker amongst ourselves and bitch about SCI. I've seen a lot of group become real interested in stars and clouds when it was time to donate too.

Unfortunately they reproduce as well. Sad part is a small group will make a fortune off this, hunters will suffer, and the wildlife we cherish and support will pay the ultimate price ....

Already I was beginning to fall into the African way of thinking: That if
you properly respect what you are after, and shoot it cleanly and on
the animal's terrain, if you imprison in your mind all the wonder of the
day from sky to smell to breeze to flowers—then you have not merely
killed an animal. You have lent immortality to a beast you have killed
because you loved him and wanted him forever so that you could always
recapture the day - Robert Ruark

True, but sadly, SCI deserves every negative thrown at them!

Where IS SCI?

What have THEY done to turn the tide against what these idiots are doing??

This whole Cecil the lion outrage was nothing more than a bunch of Bull***t blown out of proportion by the media and animal rights nuts. Palmer was found to have done nothing wrong yet that's not going to stop the lynch mob from making an issue out of it. No lie is too big or too low for them to tell when it comes to pushing their agenda.

Remember, "Never let a tragedy go to waste".

While tragedy isn't quite the right word for Cecil the lion, the premise is the same. I do feel bad that the lion was killed because he as an individual did mean a lot to people and was an icon in the park. The dentist deserves no blame while the PH does and most of all the wildlife that will suffer at the hands of these bleeding hearts has my utmost sympathy.

What does SCI do? Honest question. Why should I give my money to them?

At Cecil's age it was probably the best thing for the research group. If Cecil had died a year later of natural causes what would they have received in donations. When looking for who likely blew this out of proportion I believe in the saying "follow the money".

I don't know what SCI did about the Cecil thing. I'm sure they are open to suggestions and have room for lots of volunteers.

For that matter, what did DSC do? Or the A-R community? Did somebody organize a counter rally and if so, how many from this forum attended or contributed to the cause?

Tell us what international organization for hunters rights is out there that does more than SCI that we should join and financially support. What did they do on this matter? Do they have a publication or website of some kind? Where do they lobby network do they have? Do they have lots of Chapters in dozens of countries?

I'd like to join and lend my support. What's their name and contact information.

Maybe the ancient Romans had something when they used to throw dissidents (Christians) to the lions. If that practice were resumed with the PETA crowd, I'm sure there would never be a tear shed over a lion's death.
