Ron, Can you give me details (again) on where to get a new floor plate and stronger spring for my follower for my CZ 550?

I am currently at 3 1/2 ctgs down on my CZ which has a BRNO 602 McMillan stock.

Would sure like 4 down as I tended to load from magazine once I got out of the safari car.

The extra shoulder diameter for 450 Dakota vs 416 Rigby stole my extra ctg.

Andy,

Jim Wisner makes Rigby style 'pocket plates' for the cz550.

One on these should allow you 4 down in any of the Rigby size cases and 6 down with the .375 H&H.

Go to the 'Custom Made Parts' section on their website. They come in the white and do need fitting
by your smith.

Wisners

Dave

Does anyone have a photo of Wisner's pocket floor plate for the CZ 416? I would like to see one.

Wink,

Check out this thread.

Jim Wisner describes the Rigby plate and there are a couple pics posted by tiggertate.

Wink,

I did the same thing for my 550 (non-mag) by hollowing out one floorplate and then soldering another plate to the bottom. It looks just like Jim's except it is already fitted by default.

If you can get ahold of two floor plates and don't mind the effort you can do your own.

Andy,
Will likes to solder an extra leaf from another CZ spring onto his. Just kidding.

I have used Mauser springs, and I have bought several springs and followers from Dakota. I have never resorted to CZ-USA for a stiffer magazine spring, yet, as I have snagged parts from smiths and Dakota so far.
