I am looking for some 6mm Musgrave brass and have found some in South Africa. The problem is getting it to the U.S. If I can arrange to get it to you, is someone willing to bring 100 rounds of once-fired brass in factory boxes back to the U.S. for me?

I may be going to SA in June. If you can wait that long and if no one else offers, I am pleased to do it. PM me as time gets closer.

I've shipped reloading equipment to Namibia for a PH pal via Graf (?). They have somebody that specializes in International Shipping. Is shipping un=primed brass from RSA to USA a no-no? I've also arrange to have shipped Caterpillar dozer parts to Namibia for another PH friend there.

Could this brass be shipped to the USA>

Thank you, Cal. I believe that shipping unprimed brass is allowed, just very expensive.

Why not just buy some from Quality Cartridge? I’m guessing they make brass for that cartridge, as they make damn near everything else.

All depends on the airline, and its employees interpretation of the rules.

I have been told of passengers having problems carrying just one empty case.

So please make sure you know what is going on.

Don't try mailing it from the US to RSA.
Tysue can explain what the homeland security
people explained to him in person a few years
ago. I'd expect hand carry is the only way.

How True Saeed.

The ammo cases will have to match a rifle you are transporting. Therefor, if you are not transporting a like chambering rifle, you may want to rethink the proposition.

The empty cases would need to be in a locked case (that you should have from transporting your ammo). You are asked, how many rounds you have and how many empty cases. Then some times they want to inspect your ammo. That is the catch in this, will you be the one that is asked to have your ammo inspected.

You cannot import any "US Import Munitions List" articles without an import permit from the atf. Rifle brass is on the list, as is ammo of any type. Empty shotshells and sporting shotguns are a couple of the few exceptions.

Of course, if you take the ammo out you can bring the brass back in, that is not an importation.

Airlines don't care whether the brass matches the rifle. Customs in some countries, does. The airlines care about quantity and how they are packed.

You can make 6mm Musgrave from 303 .. I haven't done it but I think you just run it through a 6mm Musgrave sizer die which I presume you have (or possibly any 6mm die that doesn't touch the case, I would try 243, just don't set the shoulder back to the point where you create a headspace problem).
