I was talking to a work partner the other week, and he mentioned that wehen he was in South-africa some years ago he noticed bounties for poacers. At that time, $100 000 for poachers dead or alive.

Is this still practiced in some parts of africa?

Nortman

It would have been nice, but you'd see a lot of shooting - believe me! Although that story is crap, there are some land owners that feel very strongly about protecting their property!

Unlike the bounty story, these are real ...

Your friend suffers from rumor mongering..

Poachers are shot and killed in Tanzania and in the far Northern most areas, but primarily because they are well armed and the death rate with game wardens was quite high the last word I got on it...but no bounties are paid. In fact some Game Scouts will try and kill poaching fishermen, that is probably a bit over the top, but who's watching the goat in the cabbage patch, and who put him there? thumbdown

While there is no bounty on poachers in Zim to my knowledge it is considered okay to shoot poachers armed with a rifle but not a spear. Ganyana can chime in here if I am wrong.

I beleve the first says something like this:
Climb over my fuc### fence again, and you will all shit!

And the second:
Trespassers will be shot, beaten up, exterminated, burnt and shot again!

Y-D

Tell him, that literally translated the signs read something like this:

#1: PRIVATE PROPERTY (in 3 languages) CLIMB OVER MY FUCKING FENCE AGAIN AND YOU WILL SHIT!!

#2: STRICTLY PRIVATE
TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT, BEATEN UP AND EXTERMINATED, BURNT AND SHOT AGAIN.

To the point, I'd say ...
