Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who replyed and let you know what we worked out. So after a few days of me whining and moaning, what can I say its been a long summer, my wife has had cancer and gall bladder surgery in less than 6 week, plus with my work load at the office and taking care of her, I guess the stress just go to me. So yesterday after work, and 3 or 4 glass of Crown, we gave Rick a call and worked thing out. Looks like we'll be leaving Oct.2 for 10 days with Garry. Sure its not what I'd planned but then again what do I have to be unhappy about, we've got our health, we're going to Africa hunting and I've got more work that I do. So thanks for all your support. Plus after we worked out this trip he told me he just had a guy cancel on a June 2005 Leopard hunt, which he made me a very good offer on. I'd like to do it, but told him I'd think it over.

Well, not that it matters that much, but I think you made the right choice. A hunting trip this year is better than a "maybe trip" next year. It'll be a bit warm, but that sweat will just make you appreciate the trophy that much more. And when you get back you can chase whitetails around in the fall at home and cool off. I'm sure you'll have a great trip. Good luck to you and the wife!

June is the better option if its available...I don't care for Oct in RSA, BUT hunting in October anywhere beats the heck out of not hunting in October anywhere....Just do it.
