Last night we had our local SCI GA chapter function. During the evening live auction, I ended up being the only bidder on a 5-day Hunt for Oryx/Springbuck/Duiker (trophy fees included) in Namibia. I got it for a very low price. Hunt is with Kalahari Safari. PH (met him there)is Janneman Brand. Going in July. Anyone know this outfit or PH?

If it is the same outfit, Tony Da Costa used to book for them. I read several hunt reports on them and all were very favorable.

Congratulations, Bob, you'll have a ball.

I was one of the auction spotters (the big guy with the vest and hat).

Plains game hunts were going for $.25 on the dollar. Even a leopard hunt that included the trophy fee only went for a little over three grand. I've never seen such a low market for hunts.

These local SCI chapter fund raisers are the perfect opportunity for first timers to find a bargin safari. Beware, however, most chapters take no responsibility for the quality of what is bought. So do your research before bidding!
