Any of you gents have any eperience with them on buffalo? I've used 400gr Swift A Frames@2400 on them, but I've developed a "varmint accurate" load using subject bullet @ 2625. Oh that is a three shot group Smiler

Jorge,

Fantastic! At any bushveld range hold dead on, pull trigger, dead animal. Should be perfect for everything except elephant.

I've used the 350 TSX in 416 Rigby on 2 Buff as well as Lion. I really like the load as it shoots as flat if not a bit better than the 375 H&H.

First Buff bull I shot with this load was a quartering to shot at about 30 yards. Hit him on the point of the left shoulder. Recovered the bullet under the skin just in front of the right hindquarter. Excellent performance.

Thanks very much gents. Todd your last line is what I was looking for. I'm trying to make a final decison on my Tanzania buff hunt (plan on taking two buff) and I needed a good scoped rifle as a backup to my double and my "stung hunt" with an 1895 Wincherster in 405 with 300gr TSX bullets. The 350gr 416 will give me the buffalo killing power in case all I have are longer shots, plus it can also fit the bill as a PG rifle for PG. jorge

Jorge, I agree with that statement. The 350 TSX will give you the best of both worlds IMO.

Jorge, I think the 350 TSX is ideal; additionally it is interchangeable with the 350 BBS, allowing the same point of aim on heavier species (elephant). It's hard to imagine a more versatile approach to Africa's game. It sounds like your powder load is knocking the top off of the charts. Given the excellent velocity and accuracy and range you have achieved, I can't imagine that you would need to bring anything of smaller caliber. In my opinion the TSX should stand up well to the kind of pounding it has to take at those velocities. I suspect that when you get used to this load you will find that you never have a use for a .375.

That which is not impossible is compulsory

Bill: the load is 96gr of H-4350 which is not maximum. I do have one of the older Ruger Rignys with the 24" barrel and that might account for the high velocity. jorge

Yep, that bullet will work for anything that doesn't have big tusks.

TSX is my "go-to" round for just about everything in guns 375 and larger. Great bullet.

Jorge:

Used the same exact set up on buffalo in Zimbabwe 2 years ago and was very happy. Working up loads for my gun, the 350 gr barnes was just what the doctor ordered. Plan on using the same setup next summer in Zim.

The danger of civilization, of course, is that you will piss away your life on nonsense
