I snapped a few photos at the convention. I think some might like to see what they are doing at Rigby. Enjoy!

What a great experience. One can only imagine the adventures those rifles have seen!

Those are all collectors items. I can't see anyone actually hunting with those intricate engravings.

I loved watching the Rigby employee working on a rifle during the convention. Also, that display nearby with the two lion taking down the cape buffalo was amazing. My daughter thought that all of the players (two lion and buffalo) in the scene were held there by some sort of magnets, as she could not figure out how they could position two lion taking down a buffalo like that! It would have been worth the 750 mile drive from here, just to watch that gentleman at work; let alone seeing the Corbett double and Bell's 275 Rigby in a suitable home.

Jay, I’m with you…imagining what the two personal Corbett rifles must have seen. It was truly an honor and incredible experience to be able to handle them.

376 steyr…I am the first to admit and understand that a custom gun with the highest level of embellishments is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some may want a highly adorned rifle for their collection while others may also choose to hunt with it as well. With that being said, I think the John Rigby London Best Corbett Commemorative Rifle for the World Heritage Rifle Series nicely represented the art of custom gunmaking. The fit, finish, and detailed embellishments were of the very highest standard of excellence.

Use Enough Gun…I heard a lot of people around the convention speaking about being able to watch the Rigby craftsmen in action. I think because you could literally lean right in and watch made it quite interesting. That coupled with watching the layout and execution of the checkering while they described what they were doing was amazing. That was a pretty cool mount that you mentioned!

Idaho, I felt the same way. Watching the Rigby craftsmen at work (Mark Renmant) and handling the Corbett rifles was very special and the highlight of the event for me personally.

They did have the Rising Bite on display as noted. I did have a chance to look it over and was impressed. Here are a couple pics of the rising bite. The close-up is a copyright image courtesy of John Rigby & Co.

Rigby are good folks. I've had many nice conversations with Marc over the years. One of the things I have always felt when talking to him is that they are really enjoying what they are doing. Seems to come through in these pics.

Marc is a gentleman and a fantastic international representative for John Rigby & Co. Marc and his team are definitely passionate about what they do. I am glad that the pictures convey that feeling.

Do they have a London Showroom?

I'll be in London for a few days in June, and wanted to visit some gunrooms if possible.

I really want to visit WR's, but Birmingham might be too far from London for that.

Thanks,

Yes they do have a showroom in London:

JOHN RIGBY & Co. (Gunmakers) LTD

LONDON SW8 4TP

It is best to give them a call well in advance so they can take good care of you during your visit. I will PM additional information to you.

WR is worth the train journey. Only takes about an hour and a half. Let them know when you're planning to visit in advance.

Thank you for the photos, obviously I enjoyed the ones with Corbett's rifles tremendously. Every year, me and clients of us travel to Corbett Nationalpark, after that we visit locations where Corbett had killed man-eating tigers and leopards. The mango tree at Rudraprayag is huge and still beautiful (Corbett was shooting the leopard from that tree). The tour we did two years ago.

The previous year we went to Mohan and tried to get to Kanda as well but that place wasn't accessible. This year in May we gonna visit Champawat, Sem, Chuka and Kot Kindri.

I believe both the old and new rising bite rifles on display belong to a friend here in Anchorage. Looking forward to shooting his new Rigby.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Unfortunately I missed seeing a vintage Rising Bite while at the Rigby booth. I would have enjoyed seeing that gem as well! Be sure to let us know how the new Rising Bite shoots.
