I understand that while lions are fairly plentiful in the Selous, they tend to be of poor mane quality. Please let me know of your experience. And, if you have photos, please post them.

Hi Scott,

I know for a fact they, the lions do not have big manes...To much havy underbrush..Like brushing our hair we pull it out...But ther are other areas where lions have smal manes and even the Tsavo maneaters had no manes...I look at it this way a mature lion is what I am after and not going to worry if he is not an MGM lion..

I thought you guys were booking western Tanzania? I think Adam would tell you that in the right area you might take a very good lion in the Selous.
