Anyone been to Zimbabwe lately
Just wondering what the current situation is like over there. I'm heading there in Sept.

We were there in late March. We went shopping at the flea markets in Vic Falls after the hunt. Never felt threatened. Have a great hunt.

I spent a week in Harare in late March. Spent a lot of time driving around town and some time walking down town. I saw no problems there or on the roads outside of Harare. A few police checkpoints was all and they were not intewrested in us at all. The people we met were all friendly including the police and CID officers.

I was there in February and traveled over 3,000 miles through the country. No problems, never felt threatened. Spoke to my fellow Outfitter two nights ago and "no worries". He has 16 clients coming over, starting in two weeks for the month of May, and we see nothing other than good times. LDK

I am leaving to hunt there in 3 weeks. I just
watched my video of my hunt from 2004, and
I am pumped. My friend who lives in South Africa
told me that Zim is fine for now.
Best of luck

I was there just two weeks ago. Returned on April 7th. I've made a few posts regarding my visit, some specifically in regard to the situation in Zim. I had no problems whatsoever.

Jeff,

I'm not sure if you were referring to me, but I posted a report about my hunt when I got back. Here's the link:

Jeff,
Please don't go, it's way too dangerous! Give me your tickets and I will go insted and let you know how it was.
Joking aside, I was there in Sept, and I had the time of my life. Never felt in any type of danger in any way.
Good luck and don't worry.

I was there in June/July of 2005. I was all over Bulawayo and none the less for wear. Shortage of gas was about all. I will be hunting Metetsi this year with HHK beginning on 8/25 for 10 days of buffalo/plains game hunting. I'm not worried at all about the situation. I think the problems there have been ongoing. Africa is never 100% so "yo pays yo money and takes yo chances".

I have a good friend who lives in Harare. I talk to him weekly. He tells me all is fine in Zim as far as traveler safety goes.

Just returned today from Zim and found it fine in fact the tourist market sales men in Vic Falls were far less pushy. I suspect the police were cracking some heads.
