What sort of trophy quality can a client expect?

Do you have photos of buff taken on this reserve?

The hunt will be for 7 days, but I suspect that we will shoot it within 4 - 5 days. We can also hunt a zebra and an eland in the reserve, but there are only one eland bull. (So chances are slim although I have seen him).

I have shot 38 - 40" buffalo here with ease this year. There are currently a good number of dagga boys in the area. The reserve is open on the Kruger Park side. I don't know how to attach a picture, soory please help??

If you load the picture on your website, just enclose the name of the .jpg file in '' tags.

How many buffalo are coming over from Kruger? Are they staying in the reserve or moving back and forth on a daily basis?

Yes, but there is no telling which buff were shot in RSA and which were shot elsewhere.

For 7 days (as per your post), that's $25,000.00 for one Buffalo. That seems steep, even for South Africa. I am sure that for the right client that may well be worth it.

However, at that price, I can have a 14-16 day all-inclusive Buffalo & Plains Game hunt in Zim or a 10 day all-inclusive Buffalo & Plains Game Tanzania hunt...am I missing something?

They must use some really fuzzy math up there in Canuckistan. bewildered

I read it as $7500 + $2500 = $10000.

I think he is calculating $2500 per day plus $7500.

George, You're most probably right in your interpretation of the fees.
Charles is right. I interpreted Day fees: US $2500 all inclusive to mean $2500 per day and the "The hunt will be for 7 days,..." to then calculate the $25,000 fee. Looking back, I can almost 'shoot' a White Rhino for that price. Excuse my fuzzy math if I misinterpreted the postthumb

Stupid me Mad

Being an old sun burnt RHODESIAN I read it as /

$7500 - the trophy fee for 1x cape buffalo BULL
$2500 - the daily rate ( all inclusive fee)

Therefore if you get the SOB in one day you pay $10,000

If it takes you three days to get the b..tard then unfortunately you pay $15,000

So you better have your well broken in Courtney Boots, your well sighted in rifle and a good P'H/Guide to sus out the animal in say 2-3 days maximum, or else it will cost you LONG BUCKS (-:

Good hunting and shoot straight, as if you (wound the SOB on day 7) and it is lost, you are then out of pocket BIG TIME unless there are special circumstances within the package for wounding and lost animals Confused

Balla Balla, I think I misinterpreted. Have you seen similar fees before?

If the daily rate is $2500, then the two options that I pointed out would be better for most folks.

It Can't be $2500.00/day can it Confused Sounds to me like the $2500.00 is the total for daily rates for 7 days.

I read it as $10,000 for a 7 day buff hunt to include one buffalo. If the price is also inclusive of the 14% VAT, dip and pack etc. it is a heck of a deal in RSA.

FYI /

Most of the recognised operators in Africa charge a (basic daily rate) to hunt/per day plus an animal specie fee.

With cape buffalo the specie fee is almost always lower than the daily rate, but sometimes some operators for (their own reasons) prefer to (buck the trend) and have a HIGH SPECIE fee and lower daily rate, I personally dont subscribe to that but that is only my opinion

I personally am always more suspicious when the specie fee is high and the daily rate low in comparison, for a cape buffalo hunt.

The best option IMHO should be a (package hunt) of say 5 or 7 days duration with a fixed price to cover for 1x buff bull included in the price, regardless of the days taken to hunt the animal within the package days allowed, then you know what you are up for.

Then of cource we need to know is the price inclusive of VAT or exclusive,

What is the dip pack and ship fee, and are there any miscellaneous hidden travel accommodation or other costs !!!

Peter

That's what I read it as too. And if an extra day was needed, I'd think a small extra sum would do the trick (another 357 US dollars).

It is a SPECIAL so I think it is $10,000 all up for trophy and daily rates.

If everything else pans out, a good deal worth considering.

Gentlemen,

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. It was my duty to give the details in full.

One buffalo trophy bull: US $7500
Day Fees for 7 days: US $2500 ($357 per day)
Therefore US $10 000 for your 7 day hunt.

Conditions: 14% VAT (Value Added Tax) is payable on the daily rates.
Taxidermy fees optional.

This reserve have a lot of resident buffalo but because it is open towards the KNP there are also buffalo moving in and out.

This is a matter of urgency and the buffalo must preferably be hunted before the end of November.

Louis /

Thanks, that price sound OK for a SA cape buff hunt.

So in effect, we are talking about an all up price including the VAT of /

$10,350 + the dip pack ship as/if required

Are there any opportunties for taking some plains game within the (7-day package) at add on specie fees per plains game taken

AND

Where do you meet and greet the clients to transport them to the area, and is that travel included in the price

AND are there any other miscellaneous costs to consider, or is it ALL UP as above

Cheers and good luck ...

Regards - Peter

Peter,

Yes, that is correct the total amount of $10350 + the dip, pack and ship or taxidermy work in SA.

Yes there are some plains game that can be added on but not on the reserve though. I have a zebra and an eland available in the reserve at pricelist prices. I have just received an e-mail of a 37" sable close to the area with a sore foot for $7000. If we drive to other areas anything would be possible. Collection can be either from JHB Intl or Golden Gate International at Hoedspruit.

NO THERE ARE NO HIDDEN COSTS, only additional $195 per day for non-hunting observers.

Regards - Louis

Can anyone please tell me step by step how to put a picture in. I have good pictures of a 41" and a 38" buffalo we shot there.

Also I guarantee you that you will have a shot at a trophy in your 7 days. This is no BS! There are really good trophy buff in the area, we have game scouts that can monitor there movement for us. The lasst buffalo I shot within the first day after 5 hours on their tracks.

How to Post Pictures

Short version -- if you already have the pictures on your website or another location on the internet, take the URL/web address for the image itself (should end in .jpg) and copy that URL. When you make a post, you have buttons at the top of the box where you enter the text. The second from the right is the image button (looks like mountain scenery). Click that and paste the URL for the image into that box.

If all else fails email them to me. My email address is in my profile. Click on my name on the left side of this post to see my profile.

Louis,

Welcome to AR Forum. As some have remarked: It is a good deal for a ethically hunted buffalo in South Africa. I hope you get a hunter with the wherewithall to take up your offer. Considering the posts so far that is very likely. All that then remains is that the hunter gets his real trophy hardtop in a most enjoyable manner.

In good hunting,

ANdrew McLaren.

Alomostacowboy,

I have stated that the buffalo hunt would cost $10 000 total. This is $7500 trophy fee and $2500 for 7 days and not per day ($357/day). As I have said this is a end of season special and a very good price. Usually a buffalo hunt in SA would cost you $13000 + taxes.

So if you do not shoot the buffalo you only pay $2500 for the 7 days.
